Drood might not sound like an inspiring family name, until you learn the title represents a dynasty of supernatural James Bonds. If the unassuming people of the Droods' alternate reality don't notice the myriad of terrifying threats to their existence lurking beyond their understanding, that's just because the Droods are doing their job. But Eddie Drood has done all he can to cut ties after becoming disillusioned by the family's growing corruption. He now needs to finish one more family job to get what he wants, if he can indeed trust his former clan. This ninth book in the Secret Histories series carries the story along at a relentless pace fueled by a whimsical fantasy-noir attitude.
