From the bestselling author of Done and Dusted and Swift and Saddled, the highly anticipated next book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, a small-town romance in which enemies turn to lovers when theyâre forced to work together during one hot summer
âAnother deliciously addictive romance . . . as sizzling as it is emotional and vulnerable.ââElena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception
AN ELLE BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR
Teddy Andersen doesnât have a plan. Sheâs never needed one before. Sheâs always been more of a go-with-the-flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesnât seem to be going her way this time.
Her favorite vintage suede jacket has a hole in it, her sewing machine is broken, and her best friend just got engaged. Suddenly, everything feels like itâs starting to change. Teddy is used to being a leader, but now she feels like sheâs getting left behind, wondering if life in the small town she loves is enough for her anymore.
Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He doesnât know whatâs harder: taking care of his familyâs 8,000 acre ranch, or parenting his spunky six-year-old daughter, who is staying with him for the summer. Gus has always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he has to admit that he canât manage everything on his own. He needs help.
His little sisterâs best friend, the woman he canât stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddyâs the only option heâs got. Teddy decides to use the summer to try and figure out what she wants out of life. Gus, on the other hand, starts to worry that heâll never find what he needs.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether they should act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?

Sage offers a spicy, western take on the enemies-to-lovers trope in her third Rebel Blue Ranch contemporary (after Swift and Saddled). Lovable grump Gus Ryder has always considered Meadowlark, Wyo., town troublemaker Theodora âTeddyâ Anderson to be a bad influence on his sister and her best friend, Emmy, which does nothing to quell his reluctant attraction to Teddy. The pair shared a single kiss seven years before the start of the novel, after which Gus insisted they pretend nothing happened, and theyâve been at each otherâs throats ever since. Their feud is legendary throughout Meadowlark, which is why no one but Emmy thinks itâs a good idea for Teddy, whoâs recently out of a job, to take a gig as a babysitter for single father Gusâs precocious six-year-old. Theyâre both desperate, however, so they reluctantly agree. Teddyâs presence around the house reignites old passion, and her love scenes with Gus singe the pages. Supporting charactersâincluding cameos from the couples featured in previous installmentsâadd to the cozy small-town charm. Series fans will be pleased. Agent: Jessica Watterson, Djikstra Agency. -

Narrators Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor portray Teddy and Gus, Teddy's best friend's older brother. They can't stand each other; however, when Gus needs a caregiver for his daughter, Teddy steps into the role. Forced proximity provides a look into each other's real self, making them re-evaluate the sometimes thin line between love and hate. With their extensive audiobook experience, it's no surprise that both narrators serve listeners an auditory treat. Brentmoor's vibrant performance captures Teddy's personality, both her happy go-with-the-flow external side and the insecure side she rarely shows. Though his female voices aren't particularly strong, Clarke's expressive portrayal of Gus captures the rancher's breadth of emotions. A.L.S.M. Š AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine
